HOW MUCH?

$12,995 For First Year, $4,995 Subsequent Years

HARDWARE IS INCLUDED with purchase. (This includes the VR Headset, see below for a full list of what is included).  See below for prepaid/multiple year discounts.

This price is for a single unit - one computer with VR hardware & RTC software.

Discounts, NOT Contracts

We DO offer a 10% discount for if you prepay for two additional years in advance.

We refused to try to trap our brothers & sisters for a cash grab, by trying to trick you into getting locked into a multi-year contract to save money. If you aren't satisfied and want to return the simulator, we'll issue you a prorated refund.

We're Firefighters - NOT Vendors

Why don't Fire Service vendors all include their price? Why is it hidden in their sales doc, or you have to include your email address so they can start spamming you to "close a sale?" We know the reason - so they can charge some of us more than others.

We think that's horse shit.  It doesn't cost us any more money to sell a simulator to New York than it does to sell it down the street.  There's shipping and that's it. So why should we hide our price?  It's not a dirty secret or something we are ashamed of.  It's a good price for an excellent product.
We advertise what we believe in.  We believe in this price.  We do not nickle/dime or shortchange our brothers & sisters in the Fire Service.

Caveats & Other Things To Know

The non-essential components of the hardware may vary.  It is much easier to find problems if things like the graphics cards are all the same - but the tower/case might might be different.  The performance will not be affected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at blake@thelivesimulator.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

1 - Probably Not - The hardware specs need to be very close to what we have listed here, due to the way the simulator software has been optimized.  (Think of using a smaller engine to drive your Heavy Rescue Truck - it MIGHT move, but it won't move well)
2 - We can't provide technical support for hardware that we didn't install or purchase.  (This doesn't mean you can't fix it yourself, we'll still help you on the software side)

We wish! But No, you can't- ( this would have made our jobs much easier) - Unfortunately to power the software and to have the simulation be as detailed as possible, we need some heavy-lifting hardware.  While there are some programs that can run on those standalone headsets, they are cut-down, super slimmed down versions.  Do you want a jet or a glider?

Possibly - reach out to us and we can work out a solution - you can also see the see the Volunteer Dept Section of the "Made By Firefighters For Firefighters Promise"

Warranty is Included as part of the service - though it is rare, (we use high-quality parts) but as an example, if we determine that your graphics card has died , we arrange for shipping that card out to the manufacturer (who will ship you a new one).

Blake can tell you all about that.   He has broken down, packed up, and deployed, the full hardware literally hundreds of times.  We contract out with a local supplier for pelican boxes and laser cutting, mention this in your email/call if you are interested in this.

Like the Fire Service, we have a good idea about what we are doing, but we are constantly looking for ways to innovate.  We've considered contracting a company to provide ALL hardware support, however, these tend to be expensive for the users and currently we do not believe it is worth the increased price. (They are typically used to make money for the companies who provide them, not offer true value for the consumer)
Our advice - Give us a call if you have problems - we'll take care of it.

Picking a Fight - Do Vendors Care about you, (enough)?

You save lives, literally.

Why do you have to request a quote?  Why isn't the pricing just clearly stated?  It's so vendors can find ways to charge us more money.  They run a business - the primary reason they exist is to make money.  It's not personal.  (Until you think about it.)

How passionate are they about saving money, about finding ways to make your life easier?

Does the following scene sound familiar?

"Chief, this new on-line power-point driven program sucks."

"Yeah sorry, but they got us for a 3 year contract, so we are stuck with it."

Just because we have a paramilitary job doesn't mean we have a military budget!
